EN1143-1 Certified Vaults, Strongrooms & Vault Doors

Cerberus Vault Rooms, Strongrooms & Vault Doors — EN1143-1 Certified, Grade II to XIII

Modular vault rooms and certified vault doors, manufactured in Britain and installed in 1–2 weeks. Built for banks, bullion and precious-metals storage, jewellers, museums, pharmaceutical and laboratory sites, and government facilities.

Specialist vault and strongroom manufacturer — protecting people, assets and high-value stock

British-made, independently certified, and built to your exact security grade

Cerberus is Burton Security’s range of modular vault rooms and strongrooms. We certify each to EN1143-1. We build every room and door to order, from Grade II up to Grade XIII. As a result, banks, jewellers, museums, labs, bullion and government sites each get exactly the protection their insurer requires.

Because the rooms are modular, you can also de-mount and re-erect them at another site — something cast-in-situ vaults can’t match. They are lighter too, with walls typically 75% thinner that free up usable space.

Modular vault rooms & strongrooms — certified to EN1143-1

Cerberus is a modular vault and strongroom system certified to EN1143-1, built to reinforce new or existing buildings to a proven, standardised security grade. The panels can be de-mounted and re-erected at another site, and every room is built to order to the client’s size, grade and specification.

Rooms are supplied as 5-sided or 6-sided configurations. Only 6-sided rooms can receive full EN1143-1 certification.

Modular vault design

Cerberus vaults offer an outstanding price-to-performance ratio. The required grade is achieved by combining ultra-high-density cast concrete with engineered steel armouring, producing some of the thinnest walls on the market — typically 75% thinner than cast-in-situ vault rooms. That means more usable internal space, lower weight and lower overall cost, built to order across 14 security classes from LPS1175 up to EN1143-1 Grade XIII.

How a Cerberus vault room is built — modular vault panels

We deliver each Cerberus vault room or strongroom as a set of prefabricated vault panels — the elements or modules — and assemble them on site into a complete certified room. On site, we push the panels together, interlock them and weld them from the inside. Panel widths range from 100mm to 1,500mm. Each panel combines a profiled steel body, engineered armouring and an ultra-high-density concrete core for lasting, certified security.

Inside, the panels are painted steel; outside, they are bare concrete, which your contractor usually plasters or clads. Where a ceiling span exceeds 3.5–4m, steel girders carry the roof panels, sized to each room. For 5-sided vaults, we weld L-shaped steel brackets to fix the wall panels to the building floor.
Because the rooms are modular, installation is quick and needs no wet works — so a typical room is ready in 1–2 weeks.

Every Cerberus vault room is supplied with a matching vault door — certified to the same EN1143-1 grade

Cerberus Vault — certified vault rooms and strongrooms

Burton Security is a specialist UK vault manufacturer with 35 years’ experience, and we believe in independent testing and certification. We build to EN1143-1 for vaults and strongrooms. We also build to LPS1175 for security rooms. ECB·S and BRE / LPCB issue our certificates, and both Burton Security and our supply chain hold ISO 9001.

We offer Cerberus rooms and doors in every EN1143-1 grade, from Grade II to Grade XIII — the highest available today. As a result, we can match the exact certified protection your application and insurer require, including any police or Home Office liaison stipulations.

Cerberus Vault Doors — EN1143-1 certified, Grade II to XIII

We certify Cerberus vault doors to EN1143-1 and match them to the room’s grade. We can also supply a stand-alone door for your own cast walls. Choose standard, emergency-exit, integrated-emergency-door or automated. We match the locking to grade — key, mechanical-combination or electronic (dormakaba, Insys, La Gard).

Electronic options add dual control, time delay, time locks, audit trails and remote programming. The doors open outward and rotate up to 180°.

For central banks, money-printing and bullion sites, we build automated doors up to Grade XIII with one-touch, remote and AGV (automated-guided-vehicle) access. We also supply day gates for secure entry while the vault door is open.

Security is our top priority

10 Steps to your Individual Vault Room

1 – Clarification of requirements

In order to offer your valuables the best possible protection, it is important to clarify your individual security protection requirements with your insurance company, security consultant, Home Office or Police liaison officer. This sets the EN1143-1 grade for your vault — Grade II to XIII.

2 – Clarification of the space

The location of your vault, weight and access restrictions, its contents and access requirements will all be discussed to agree the size of your vault room.

3 – Door and access

Who, how and when will access be required will then dictate the size of your vault door, whether you need a day gate, and the locking specified

4 – Optional Extras

Alarm & cctv, electrics, ventilation and decorations/finish should all be discussed.

5 – Cost estimate

Once the first steps have been completed, a cost estimate for the entire project is drawn up, usually within 48-72 hours.

6 – Detailed planning

The initial concept is followed by the detailed planning of the vault. Every detail is taken into account by our planning team in order to meet your requirements.

7 – Production and delivery date

The next step is to schedule the production process. Aspects such as the delivery time and delivery date are discussed.
Most vault rooms take around 10-12 weeks to manufacture, once everything is finalised.

8 – Room certificate

Once your vault room has been installed, a full inspection of the construction and the welding is undertaken. Evidence is submitted to the ECB·S and only then can a a full EN1143-1 certificate be issued for your completed project.

9 – Commissioning

In the penultimate step our engineers will install and commission your locking systems and fit brackets for alarm connections, electrics and decorative panels. Your vault will be ready for your other contractors to complete and put into operation.

10 – Insurance documentation

We will provide you with documentation that can be shared with your insurer, Home Office or Police liaison to prove the security rating of your vault.

Vault room delivery & installation — what to expect

Cerberus, Orthrus and Biovault rooms are self-supporting, and we usually deliver them as 6-sided rooms (5-sided without a floor also works). We prefabricate the panels, then assemble and weld them on site. Because the build needs no wet works, a typical room is ready in 1–2 weeks.

Every building is different, so we may use cranes, HiABs, forklifts or traditional lifting and rolling. A flat floor matters for correct assembly and door operation; where the floor isn’t level, we add levelling plates. Finally, the transport route must carry the weight of the panels and the vault door, so the customer confirms the structural loads.
