Bullet resistance

Blending Functionality and Aesthetics

Whether for listed buildings or for modern architecture: RvE windows are always made to measure and are functionally and aesthetically convincing. There are hardly any limits to the shapes and formats. In collaboration with architects and builders, we develop solutions that fit perfectly into the property and meet all customer requirements.

Bullet Resistance FB1 to FB7 (DIN EN 1522

For maximum protection against firearms, RvE windows and doors can be equipped with bullet resistance, alongside high resistance classes (RC). This ensures the frame, glazing, and fittings provide optimal security without weak points. The glass must be NS quality (non-shattering) to prevent lethal glass splinters. DIN EN 1522 defines fire resistance classes FB1 to FB7 across Europe. These classes indicate a window's ability to withstand attacks from different calibers of firearms, based on rigorous fire testing.

Burglary Protection - Resistance Classes RC2 to RC4 (DIN EN 1627)

DIN EN 1627 defines resistance classes (RC) for burglary resistance, specifying how long a window should withstand an attempted break-in. RvE windows are available in RC2, RC3, and RC4 for varying levels of security:

RC2: Protection against break-ins by occasional burglars using simple tools (screwdrivers, pliers) for at least 3 minutes.

RC3: High protection against experienced burglars using larger tools (crowbars, pry bars) for at least 5 minutes.

RC4: Very high protection against skilled burglars using impact or cutting tools (axe, chisel, hammer) for at least 10 minutes.

Flood protection

Protection against heavy rain and flooding is becoming increasingly important worldwide. RvE therefore also builds security windows and doors that prevent unwanted water ingress.

Custom-made flood barriers then seal all building openings (windows, doors, light wells, garages, etc.).
The RvE flood protection system is also suitable for listed buildings that require protection from flooding.

All elements are tested for wall finish, glazing, locking points, and professional installation.
