Discreet Security and Seamless Space Optimization

Sliding, armoured steel doors, hidden in the walling of your safe space

Sanctuary pocket doors allow you to maximise the use of your property without it feeling like a fortress. The sliding door mechanism is hidden in the walling of your chosen safe space and deployed when needed.

It is an ideal solution for dressing rooms and other similar spaces where creating a more open environment is preferred to a shutting off the space with a regular hinged door. It is also a good solution when it is preferred to shield the existence of a panic room from staff and tradespeople working in the property.

Appearance

As standard the doors are supplied in a painted steel finish. Since the door is usually hidden in the walling, the only visible part is the leading edge. It is generally recommended that this is finished with some decorative joinery by a specialist.

Above the door is a mechanism that also requires hiding in the wall or ceiling above.

There are no runners or track on the floor and the boltwork is built into the door mechanism, no there is no lock keep or boltwork visible around the frame and leading edge.

Sanctuary Pocket Doors

Model Range

Sanctuary Doors can be supplied as stand alone items but are more generally supplied with Embassy Rooms and Impact Cassette Walling.

Sanctuary Pocket Doors are offered in the same security levels and with the same optional bullet resistance as our Embassy Rooms and Walling systems

E1-E4

Protect against a range of hand tools, including Crow Bars, Screwdrivers, Axes and Sledge Hammers.

E5-E6

Additionally protect against a range of battery powered tools including Rip Saws, Grinders & Drills.

EB4 & EB6

Offer further protection against hand guns and riffles including with 5.56x45mm & 7.62x51mm calibre ammunition.

Sliding Mechanism

Sanctuary Pocket Doors can be supplied with manual sliding or motorised sliding mechanisms.

When selecting a manual sliding mechanism a hidden hatch in the rear of the door is created with a handle for sliding.

For the motorised operation we use a high quality, market leading Swiss mechanism. This can be programmed and adjusted according to your individual requirements and includes safety features and inputs/outputs for connection to third party systems.

The motor is hidden in the walling above the door and will require an access hatch for annual servicing.

The motorised system uses mains power but is also supplied with a battery back up and manual override from the inside in case of any electrical issues.

Locks & Access Control

Sanctuary Pocket Doors are usually activated electronically. We offer a number of different credentials including PIN code, card or biometrics. To activate the closing from the secure side, we usually recommend a simple push button for simplicity and speed. To open the door from outside a PIN code or Biometrics are recommended, preferably hidden in joinery of the surrounding area.

Size

Sanctuary Pocket doors can be delivered as single or double doors. We can cover structural openings of H2300 W1500 with a single leaf or H2300 W2400 with a double leaf.

Production & Installation

Sanctuary Pocket doors are typically subject to an 8-12 week production time

The frame is usually delivered in two parts which are assembled together onsite. There is a substantial frame that must be placed into the adjacent walling as well as around the structural opening of the doorway itself.

Installation usually takes 1-2 days and if choosing the motorised version a further day visit is typically required to connect, test and commission the motor and access control.

Uses

Sanctuary Pocket Doors are primarily used as a panic room solution but they can also help create a secure room for the storage of larger valuables whilst you are away from your property. They are usually best used in combination with Embassy or Orthrus walling systems. However, if you have a solid wall, they can be installed as a stand alone item.
