Biovault: Advanced High-Security Storage for Radiological & Biological Materials

Biovault is a high security room, cabinet or walling system, designed specifically for the secure and compliant storage of radioactive sources, pathogens and toxins.

Tested and certified to LPS1175 E10 & E20 it meets the regulatory requirements the Environment Agency, the Homeland Security Group (HSG) and NaCTSO. 

It is a very cost effective and space saving solution. It is quick and simple to install, with no wet works required.

Appearance

In its basic form Biovault is an industrial product, with a raw concrete exterior and primed steel interior. However, it can also be offered with a number of optional decorative and practical finishes to suit the different needs of our customers. For laboratories and hospitals, we can offer easy to clean, smooth laminated finishes in a huge number of colours and decorative designs. Panel joins can be sealed to enable pressurised environments.

Doors

Doors can either be finished an a RAL painted finish, a galvanised steel or a stainless 304 & 316 polished steel finish. 

Size

Biovault is a built to order product and can be delivered in a huge range of sizes. It can be delivered as a prefabricated cabinet in minimum dimensions of H2057mm W810mm D500mm. The maximum Height is 4155mm and there is no maximum width or depth.  

Biovault can be supplied as individual walls, as a 5 sided room (without a base) or as a complete 6 sided room. It can also be delivered a cabinet and small POD.

Standard panels range between 27mm-70mm in thickness, making Biovault the thinnest profile panel on the market. This allows you to maximise your capacity and deliver the best value for money.

Biovault Doors

Biovault rooms can be supplied with both a Biovault door or, optionally with a Metal+ LPS1175 E10 door.

Biovault doors are cost effective and ideal solutions for cabinets, Pods and also warehouse environments. They can only open outwards and have a limited range of locking options.

For a greater range of functionality and finishes the Metal+ doors are the best solution. These give the option of painted, stainless or galvanised steel finishes. They can be supplied as single or double doors, with mechanical or electronic locks, with closers, emergency exit hardware, vision panels and, air tightness, fire and acoustic ratings.  

Both door options can be supplied without a threshold for step free access. Both can be supplied with monitoring contacts for connection to alarm and Building Management Systems. Power assist and automation are available on special request.  

For applications where a very large access is required or an E20 rating is needed, a special roller shutter option can be offered.

Ventilation & cable access

As standard between 6-11pcs of 40mm diameter holes are supplied around the doorway for ventilation and cable access. Additional 40mm holes can be supplied upon request.  

A larger ventilation opening of 130x275mm can be located the both the walls and the ceiling in the location of your choice. For laboratories requiring large air circulation and extraction systems  Embassy E10 & E20 barsets can be fitted.

Production & Installation

Biovault panels are pre-fabricated in the factory and this process usually takes around 10-12 weeks.

The product is usually delivered as individual panels that are assembled and welded together onsite. There are no wet works required and so installation is usually quick and simple. A typical installation would take between 3-10 working days. 

Alternatively for small rooms, cabinets and pods, we can pre-assemble them in our workshop and deliver them as completed products.

Decorative cladding can also be easily applied after installation.
